Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) has fired senior leader Sher Afzal Marwat from the party, citing a breach of discipline.
An official notification detailed that Marwat had been previously cautioned to adhere to party guidelines and restrict his statements accordingly. Despite these warnings, the party’s disciplinary committee concluded that Marwat repeatedly disregarded the party’s regulations, significantly damaging the party’s image and narrative.
Based on the committee’s findings, as well as recent statements and complaints received, PTI Chairman Imran Khan approved Marwat’s termination from the party.
The committee further suggested that if Sher Afzal Marwat is an honorable person, he should resign from his National Assembly seat, which he won as a PTI-nominated candidate, and seek re-election.
