KARACHI: Unidentified robbers broke into a house in Orangi Town’s Sector 1-C on Monday, making off with cash, gold ornaments, and even meat from the refrigerator, police said.
The residents were out of town visiting Thatta and were unaware of the theft until their return two days later. The stolen cash amounted to over Rs200,000.
Police arrived at the scene after receiving a report and collected evidence. An FIR has been registered against unknown suspects at the Orangi Town police station.
A search for the culprits is underway.

In a seperate incident, rescue teams have discovered nine unclaimed bodies in Hyderabad as the city struggles with prolonged power outages amidst hot weather.
Rescue sources reported that the bodies were found in various areas under the jurisdictions of A Section Police Station, Market Police Station, Hali Road Police Station, SITE Police Station, and Fort Police Station.
Muhammad Meraj, in charge of the Edhi Foundation in Hyderabad, confirmed that three of the bodies received from Civil Hospital were bathed, shrouded, and buried in the local cemetery.
Rescue teams indicated that the deaths were likely due to difficulty in breathing and cardiac arrest.
