KARACHI: A case has been registered against controversial public speaker Sahil Adeem at the Karachi city court police station for allegedly using offensive language against the Sindhi people, as reported by Dialogue Pakistan

The complaint, filed by a lawyer, accuses Sahil Adeem of making derogatory remarks that have deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sindhi community. The charges cite the promotion of “hatred and discord.”

Sources close to the case reveal that if Adeem fails to cooperate with authorities, an arrest may be imminent.

This development follows the circulation of an old video on social media, in which Adeem, a self-proclaimed cleric, is seen using disparaging language against the Sindhi community.

Adeem has previously faced backlash for controversial statements, including a declaration that 95 percent of women in the country are “jahil” (illiterate). These remarks were made during an appearance on the private news channel’s show “Mukalma,” which also featured writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar in a discussion on women’s and human rights.

In response to Adeem’s comments, a resolution was presented in the Sindh Assembly on July 4 by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) lawmaker Marvi Faseeh, condemning his derogatory remarks about women.
