LAHORE: On Monday, 20 former Pakistan Test players met with PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi at a local hotel to discuss strategies for improving the national cricket team following their early exit from the T20 World Cup.

The meeting was organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief, who had called for a thorough review after Pakistan’s surprising loss to the USA in their opening match of the T20 tournament. Mohsin Naqvi sought recommendations to revamp Pakistan’s domestic cricket structure, while the former players voiced their frustrations over the team’s disappointing World Cup performance.

The ex-players, including Intiqab Alam, Sadiq Mohammad, Iqbal Qasim, Haroon Rasheed, Salim Altaf, Sikandar Bakhat, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shafqat Rana, Rashid Khan, and Wajahatullah Wasti, were particularly critical of the national squad’s selection. Although Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, faced criticism for his leadership during the World Cup, his future in the role was not discussed during the meeting.
