WEB DESK: Renowned Pakistani actor Rashid Mehmood has taken to social media to voice his deep distress over the exorbitant electricity bills he faces.
In a heartfelt video shared on his Facebook, Mehmood, who has been unemployed due to limited opportunities for senior artists, highlighted his inability to cope with electricity charges exceeding Rs. 45,000. He questioned why he has been spared by God after surviving four heart attacks, expressing a poignant desire for peace.
He questioned, “I served the Pakistani showbiz industry for a long time but now there is no work available in Lahore so from where I pay this bill of above 45000?”

Rashid Mehmood, known for his long-standing contributions to the Pakistani showbiz industry, emphasised the challenges faced by senior actors like himself amidst a scarcity of work in Lahore. His emotional plea sheds light on the financial hardships endured by aging artists in Pakistan’s entertainment sector, resonating with broader concerns about livelihood and economic stability.
“It’s unbearable for me and I am praying to Allah for my death”, he added.
