Pakistan is the 27th fastest-growing population globally, with 241.5 million people and an annual growth rate of 2.55%, according to the 7th Population Census.

A significant finding is that 79% of the population is under 40, presenting both opportunities and challenges.

In addition, high illiteracy at 39.5% and 36% of children not attending school highlight urgent educational reforms.

Moreover, the census also noted discrepancies in Karachi’s population figures and a slight decrease in the Muslim population.

Furthermore, with an overall literacy rate of 60.5% and gender disparities favoring men, Federal Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, highlights the need for better educational and economic strategies to secure a brighter future for Pakistan’s youthful populace.
