In ongoing proceedings related to the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) of Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed, three retired military officers have been placed in custody.
According to a statement issued by The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the detentions are due to their actions deemed prejudicial to military discipline.
These investigations are focused on uncovering attempts to incite instability, allegedly orchestrated at the behest of, and in collusion with, political interests with vested agendas.
The names of the officers taken into military custody have been disclosed. The arrested officers include two Brigadiers and one Colonel: Brigadier R. Ghafar, Brigadier Naeem, and Colonel Asim.
All three officers were involved in communication roles and played a part in facilitating interactions between political parties and Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hameed. Both retired Brigadiers are from Chakwal and were known to be close and favoured officers of General Faiz. They were also engaged in political messaging and facilitation after their retirement.
