1,000 graduates to be sent to China as Pakistan aims to boost Agri exports: PM Shehbaz

The government has reiterated its commitment to enhancing Pakistan’s agricultural exports, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announcing a key initiative to upskill the agricultural workforce.

Moreover, at the World Food and Agriculture Exhibition in Karachi, PM revealed plans to send 1,000 agriculture graduates to China for advanced training, fully funded by the government. This effort is part of a broader strategy to modernise the sector and boost export potential.

Despite a $3 billion increase in agricultural exports last year, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the need for value addition and stronger measures to further improve export capabilities.

In addition, he noted that Pakistan’s significant agricultural potential remains underutilised and stressed the importance of maximising these resources to drive economic growth.

Additionally, the prime minister announced the conversion of 18,000 tube wells to solar energy in Balochistan to promote sustainable agriculture, reduce costs, and encourage eco-friendly practices.
